Description:
2ea. Doug Nash plug-in transmissions for #3, 3A, 4, or #5 SSM drives. These transmissions were gone thru by Tom Huber years ago and put on the shelf as spares. They have more forward clutches than a stock Velvet drive and are larger in diameter. I did some calculations on the # of square inches the forward clutch plates that are in an 11 plate Huber/BAM transmission versus a 10 plate Nash. There are 97.1938 sq. in. on one side of of an 11 plate Huber/BAM transmission and 101.242 sq. in. on one side of a 10 plate Nash transmission. Also the Nash is lighter and utilizes torrington thrust bearings. The Nash comes stock with 9 forward clutch plates and 10 can easily be installed. Parts are still available for these transmissions. A nice upgrade to a pair of stock or even a 10 or 11 plate C-72 Velvet drive transmission. They have the same overall length as a plug-in Velvet drive and have an aluminum body. Also they have a much deeper sump. The ears on the case are for mounting the transmission on the inner transom plate if a rear motor plate is not used. They can be removed. $1000ea. for ea. for the Doug Nash transmissions. Call and lets talk.
