Loan Shark Crash Photos

And to think just a few years ago there were open boats in this class. Thanks to OSS by mandating only closed canopy boats we have most likely saved the lives of two racers. Boats can be rebuilt but life cant.

Dan,
Can we have an update on how you and Rob are feeling?
I hope you got a lot of pain killers.....
I wish a quick recovery for you both....
I'd call you, but I remember your cell phone went swimming too....

Tim,
Special thanks to you for all your help after the crash. Rob and I are very lucky. But we both are ready to race again.
Poor prop selection in St Claire.
I am getting the estimates to repair the boat. The motors are off the boat now. We are working diligently to get back in the water.
Vegas is an absolute.
Orange beach is questionable.
After careful analysis of the crash the windshield on Rob's side failed which rushed the water inside the cockpit and blew out the front windshield. Thank god DPT put Rob's seat back 5 inches before the race.
We were going for it especially after passing Medallia for third but hey that's racing.
The shark boat will be back.

You're most welcome Dan.
I haven't seen the tape but maybe you have...
Please don't under estimate that canopy. Like I said, I feel that canopy compressed at the top after seeing all 4 corners cracked at the opening. The Lexan bolts sheared in half in the base at the front as well. You may need to go up in size on those bolts?
In my opinion, if you fix that canopy, please have this area in the picture supported and connected on Port & Starboard...
Best of Luck to you guys!

It was a scary day for myself when I saw the crash unfold. I was quite nervous to see the boat upside down. Once I saw Dan & Rob I felt more secure about them being OK but the event still has me uneasy. I am glad the race angels were watching over them and not just the ones in the helicopters either. I would like to personally thank everyone that helped us out from start to finish, from the cranes to the dry pits getting the boat situated. Everyone truly showed the brotherhood of this Organization and the Class. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!!!!

Just got off the phone with Dan Lawrence and he stated that with this accident OSS Safety and Tech Officials are investigating the evidence of this accident and will work with this manufacturer and other manufacturers to insure the safety of their Racers.
