'tried them on a pair of 1150's with 6" cmi pipes. dropped decibals by 12, but still not legal , they were still tested at 98dcb's with j2004 test. probably do ok on lower hp engines

Very safe, the tips are a snug fit to begin with and then you add the set screw to make sure they will not vibrate loose. The set screw is small and can be drilled at the bottom of the tip so the hole will not be visible when you remove the mufflers. Honestly, once you put these on, you are probably not going to want to remove them. They look great once they are installed.

Buddy OO, did you find a pair of mufflers that would bring the 1150's within legal dB numbers?

No sir, I do not, but it was the March 2005 issue, you might be able to find it in the archive section at hotboat.net.
