Indiana DNR Letter?

Oh YEAH! What fun it was to sit there and be raped once again by this lovely government of ours. $395...and guess what...I'm good thru 2009 even though I specifically requested NOT to pay for next year...turns out they will not issue you an "expired" sticker. Well dig this...our stickers were all expired when they SENT OUT THE LETTER! So, as of that point, we were screwed to the wall...we would HAVE to pay 08 and 09...WHAT A SCAM. I was very polite in pointing this out to the workers there, and the manager kind of half-smiled with sympathy and said "I can't comment on that." I got the name of the person I'll be writing my complaint letter to...if I do a good enough job I'll post it up here.
And turbo...don't you worry...they base the tax on the value of your boat NEW. Even though mine is 13 years old, tax was based on the full new price.

Went to pay my debt to society & had the same crap happen as sommerfliesby. OK fine - We got busted for this past year, I'll pay up. Told the BMV supervisor that the boat won't be in Hammond or Indiana next year & she said "This is the ony way this will print".
Got a 09 sticker with a red 10-07 sticker stuck on it. What ever that means. Dont need no stinkin sticker.
DNR sent out letter at the right time so they can double dip us.
IF I go back to the wonderful Horseshoe Marina located at Hammond on the lake I'll pay the 09 excise then. Why pay it now - They owe a refund in the thing won't be in Indiana water.

What are my responsibilities when selling a vehicle?
If you are selling a vehicle, you must sign the appropriate section on the front of your copy of the vehicle's title and fill in the purchaser's information. The odometer information should be completely filled out, as well as the purchase date and selling price fields.
You, as the vehicle's seller, should remove the license plate from the vehicle at the time of the transaction. It is the purchaser's responsibility to obtain a new title and to register the vehicle. You do not need to return the vehicle's license plate or registration to the BMV; however, you, as the seller, may be eligible for an excise tax refund. To apply for an excise tax refund, please visit any Indiana license branch
I think the owe us for a change - Good Luck
