Default 1969 Nova24 Raceboat

I was on HORBA signing up and it directed me here. NBD being I am already a member. So I guess this is where you announce what you've got.
So I would like to announce the purchase of the Nova24 Raceboat. It's been a dream of mine for many years. Here's to that dream doesn't turn into a nightmare.

Very cool. What are your plans for it?
Back to original would be sweet!
My guess is to contact Brownie for advice.

Going back to original as much as possible. Honestly though what was original? I’ve talked to Mike Brown and a few others and everyone describes the boat differently. The look will go back like the last picture in the video. But as for the rest, as close as I can get it within a budget.
As for the advice, thanks. I do know a little about boat. I run the SuperNova19.com website. And have had a Allmand - Super Nova19 for about 10 years now. That’s how the whole thing started. Someone had to show me the race boat 4 years ago and I’ve wanted it ever since.

I'm sure Pops will help you where ever he can. Thankfully todays technology should make it much easier. What driveline pieces do you actually have? (other than motors) Twin input V drive? if you need to talk to the Big guy let me know (unless you already have his #) Does he know you have it?

It’s still all sitting over at Ferd’s. He replaced the crash box with something else (not sure at the moment, it’s all a blur). Supposedly a little more user friendly. He also replaced the 1 to 1 transmissions with an upgrade (again not sure what it was but its hydraulic).
It has to go back to the two motors into one drive. Even if it doesn’t work (I’ll get it to work somehow if I have to use a chain drive) to take that out I might as well paint it red and slap WellCraft on it to boot. All the tanks including the ballast tank are staying. I know these gas tanks have to hold a 100 gallons each. The first gas bill is going to be killer but they have to stay.
I am taking artistic license and using 454’s, what Poodle refers to anchors, instead of the Ford 427 side oilers with blowers. They are just to much money and I would never be able to keep them running on a regular basis. The 454 in my 19 is nice but not over done. It’s real nice going to the ramp and expecting it to start and bring you home and it dose. Also there wont be so much stress on everything all the time. Not that I’m not going kick in the a$$ and see what it dose but I expect a jet ski to go by when I do.
Pop’s boat is going to be more show then go. I thought there was a chance to beat that 40’ Cat with 3 blown 502’s on my river I would go for it but there isn’t much chance of that in this boat with a space shuttle booster engine. Its like a P-51 Mustang against a F-22 Raptor, just not going to happen. But when it come to show, as simple as it is going to be it will turn heads, all heads.
