I had seen it listed for sale back when you bought it and was tempted to call the seller, but didn't want to head all the way to Ohio for it. 1980 was a big year for Martini, that was the year they swapped over to the large strake hull that set the stage for Corsa's to come. Looks very nice!

I didnt know that, thought all martini/corsas 78-96 (or whenever they stopped making them) had identical hulls. Good to know

The 78 & 79 hulls were almost identical to the 24' Excalibur/Pantera hulls but stretched a little over a foot. Measured down the centerline the boats were all well short of 26'. The goal was originally to make the boats faster without putting bigger power in them in response to the fuel crisis of the era. According to Bob Bower who built the 26' Martini & Corsa, Harry Schoell worked on tweaking the hull to make it more efficient. The easy way to see if it's the newer faster hull is to look for the raised contour on the hull sides roughly 4inches under the rubrail. If it has that section raised, it's the later hull design.
