JC,
In your case I would recommend the Hydro P5-X. It performs very well on the 42'. Tell me a little more about your boat,set-up and prop data and we can look at dialing you in!

I am just completing my new project boat,. a 04 36 Spectre Cat.
The motors are 900 dyno HP, with the new Konred 540 drives at 1.21 final ratio. The tranmissions are Huber 1550.
The drive height is very agressive, and I will need all the acceleration [or bite] I can get. The 4-plade mercury props I had on the boat last fall before the engine and drive change were just terrable as far as getting the boat on plane, the props would blow out with any throttle.
I am thinking #35. what do you think?
Steve

Yes, the 4 blade Bravo 1 is not the right prop for you. As you mentioned the boat will be difficult to get on plane and the acceleration with the 4 blade props can't even begin to compare with the 6 blade props. Once you bolt a pair of 6 blade props on your boat you will never go back to a 4 blade prop on a boat set up similar to yours.
What kind of performance numbers were you getting last season with the 4 blade props? That will give us an idea. What top speed do you expect to see and at what rpm?

sejman,
Great question! In your case I would recommend a 34P 6B running at 5800 RPM and this should put you at about 6% slip at 145 MPH. Six percent would be a conservative lip number. Your actual speed may vary....maybe faster!

Julie,
I have a Donzi 25 ZX with a Procharged 502. It is making 822 HP at 5500 RPM's. I am running a 1.36 gear ratio. I raised the X 3 inches With a IMCO extension box and added a -2 IMCO lower for a total of 5 inches higher prop shaft. I bought a mint H-6 that did not work out for the previous owner. It is a 28 Pitch. Do you think that I would be close? Are there any adjustments that could be made if needed?
