Default 27 Activator, whats needed for speed?

Thinking of buying a 1989 27' Activator with no engine. What kind of power is needed to push it to 80mph? What drive setup would be needed? Thanks to all in advance!

That should be plenty. My old 27 Excalibur (same hull as the older 27 Activators but with notched transom) did 80 gps with about 550hp. My boat was stripped with no cabin interior though.

Why don't you buy my 1991 27', with motor and drive. It's on Ebay right now (Item #150297158380) or give me a call at 631-805-7910. Thanks, Brian

Overactive507 - checked out the ad in the classifieds section and your auction on ebay...

Has the boat been painted or is it all white gel coat?

Any soft spots in hull? Transom, floor, etc?

Your auction on ebay states that the motor has developed a tapping noise which you think is a broken valve spring, yet your ad states the motor only has 32 hours on it. So in my opinion the motor even though running needs to be completely gone through.

Besides a prop, does the boat need anything else? What prop was on this setup before it was stolen?

You can see the miss on the utube video also. I thought I was imagining things at first, but you need to look close.

Still an awesome deal though.

Boat is solid (deck, transom, gelcoat, etc) - no way to know about the motor, until you take it apart. I'm not doing that, since I just want to get rid of it. Boat is two years newer and has all the components...you tell me. Prop was a 30 left (4 blade). Thanks, Brian
