Default Questions about the 37 Active Thunder

Hi All-

I know I am in the wrong section (being a formula owner and all) but I have always thought highly of Active Thunder Boats and am starting to look for my next boat.
I really would like a new 37 but can't afford one at this time. When was the first year that they made them? what are the changes that have been made over the years?

Thanks for all the help
Don

This is the only boat I like more than the 382 (I just bought my 382 in August!)....why are 2 Formula owners carrying on a conversation in the AT forum???
In 2000 they converted from a straight hull to the step. Don't buy the straight hull, just get a Sonic if that's what you want. Also, around 2003 they went to a cabin liner, these reduced interior space slightly and added weight (almost 1,000 lbs.) GREAT BOATS though, Sydways and a few others can confirm/correct my info as needed.

Impossible to find a good used AVH one with stock power. Since they are factory direct and don’t have dealers, they are priced nicely. Go for a ride….

I think Blown Rat and a few others might disagree with your first comment. I agree with the go for a ride comment.....but only if you are serious.....because the ride they provide is outstanding.

Thanks for the info. So in your opinion if I could find a 2000 to 2002 it would be a better boat than 2003 and newer?
As for the power question. I would like to find one without power becasue I have some ideas that don't include gas motors!

Thanks
Don

Like I said I'm not certain when some of the changes went into effect. The older ones will be faster though (lighter). Not many have been built so finding them is not easy. Formula has probably built more 382 this year than AT has built 37 total. A buddy has talked about selling his, but I'm not sure I believe him!!!!

In Rich's case he wishes everybody was his butt buddy!

and BTW: If this was football, he'd be the guy running down field waiting to catch the ball. (what do you call that guy Rich....oh yeah, the RECIEVER! )
