2000 32 active thunder
Engine coupler

On my 32 active thunder with 500 hps do i have to pull the motor to change the engine coupler.

You could cut a very large hole in the transom to get to it.

I have seen it done in the boat. Take the drive off. Put a chain hoist on the motor (or let it hang on the front motor mounts, better with the chain hoist) take off the bell housing and change the coupler.

It ain't pretty and it ain't easy but it can be done if you absolutely don't want to pull the motor. By the time you get down to the coupler there aren't too many more connections that need to be disconnected to pull the motor.

Also saw a transom assembly changed without pulling the motor. Too much for me but it can be done.
