At this point its a little in the air. I was going to do 509.
But the leak numbers are at 2% to9% With these numbers im sure im going to keep the cylinders sealed up for another season. I will pull the cranks and do bearings for sure and
have the cranks dbbl keyed for the blower hubs. I think im going to go back with solid cams and dry exhaust.
Mooneyham 12/71 blowers with mag/teflon stripped rotors, boost retard boxes, 4 hp 950 blower carbs, offset ign system.
This summer it would run 91 any time you push the throttles down. My wife said 93 but I wasnt looking at the gps that much. They were 625 hp. The new engines will be 850 hp.
I hope to see 110 or 112. Im sure it will run out of boat before if will run out of power. I dont run them wide open all the time its just nice to know it will. No competion runs for me, just fun at the lake.

i hope to see mid 90s , i think im going to need nose cones as well, as you did to get over 90. good luck with your rebuild.

Well, OK so you guys ARE very motivating but I was demotivated to work on the boat.

I went fishing instead, 20 redfish, 60 speckled trout. Maybe I need some extra motivation guys.

Worked for a while tonight but it was hot as heck in my shed.

What are you guys doing for winter projects?

Start with both motors in the boat, running OK BTW.
Both motors to whippled 509's, New billet marine drives and overhaul the bilge a bit. Motors coming out tomorrow.

Greg Reno at Kustom Marine and having Gellner Engineering do the heads and custom cams for the whippled 509's. I cant wait to see how it runs.
