37 A/T straight Bottom

I agree that 85-90 seems slow for 2000 HP. Also, if the straight bottom ran 80.6 with 500's, that is only a few MPH slower than the step bottoms...something seems a little off to me.

You guys are forgetting about several things.
1) Back in those days, the boats were made without a hull liner.
2) Back in those days, the boats were fairly heavy due to current day construction techniques.
3) The step bottom 37' in early days was 13% more efficient than the straightbottoms. (Way too many variables have changed since to make an accurate comparison to today's step bottom 37AT.)
4) Hull liners were added as an option around 2002 time frame. This made the boats a little heavier with the additional structural component, but layup technology and materials were also bringing construction weight(s) down.
1 triple 37AT (straight bottom) was built and is still owned by the original owner.
He also owns a rare 28AT twin SBC.

Here's the Ebay ad. I don't know if you'll be able to see it. It is saved from my watch list. It ended months ago.

I'm still pretty sure that is the same boat that was for sale a while ago here, the engines were no way 1000hp. They had had B&M 420 blowers and were listed at 750hp or so.

I'd guess around 90, +/-
Agreed, not even close to 1000hp.
This AT is a 1998.
