Building diesel power wanting a hull
31 AO outboard

do these boats have the same layup and stringers/ bulkhead spacing as the IB/OB boats? I am wondering on a future conversion of this boat... run it as is for now and build power... then when the OB's run out of steam change to an IB/ arneson setup...... what do they run like with the surface drives?

The construction is exactly the same( Stringers. bulkheads, and fiberglass/ balsa layup). On trhe outboard we put in a couple of knee braces on the transome

4000 to 5000 lbs depending on the construction schedule. ie balteck pannel bulkheads and flooring vs acquaply. also what layout is in the cabin and what layup schedule is used for the cockpit liner and hatch.

Hey bro!@

'I emailed the guy who owned that boat and he said it ran between 80 and 90. I would still like to hear some more more input on the boat myself though.

Hey 'quest', what do you think my 2002 31ao weighs with the 300X's on the back. The mercs are about 475 lbs each. Cabin is no frills, just basic carpet and bed pads.

Did you get my shipping charge money?
thanks

AO 3100
Re: 31 AO outboard

The 1992 AO is mine I gps'd it at 83 mph. The cabin has a refridg, microwave, and sink. The original boat had triple 2.4's and the gauges and throttles are still set up. It was repainted and upholstered in 2000 along with the rigging. It is definitly a heavy, solid ride. The main reason I am looking to sell it is because it is a pain a++ to fill up with gas. In CA they don't sell 92 octane so I have to bring it to the airport and I fill it around 60 % 91 octane and 40 % 100LL. Also it's time for me to join the 100 mph club and I would rather buy a boat that is already there. This is a great, stable boat but if the water is flat it porposes at 75 to the top. If the water is rough with boat chop or windy it runs great.
