Default Lab Finished Props

Question - do you think I can pick up 2 MPH by getting a Labbed finished 15 1/4 by 26 Bravo 4-blade? I am currently running 82MPG with a 525 EFI w/1:33gears. Is it worth the $900 for 2MPH? Thanks

Steve
What rpm are you turning. I calculate 5250 which means you are on the rev limiter for that motor. I suggest a labed 28 pitch. I run only labed props on my boats. they are good for 3 mph and a few hundred rpm but that only works if you are several hundred below the rev limiter. I think that boat and motor should easily run 86 mph with the proper prop.
If you think $900.00 is expensive you should know I spent more than 4 times that for two herrings and 3 mph but worth every bit of it.

I thought the herrings got you more mph than that.... although it should be said that you were already flying with labbed bravos when you got the herrings...

I am at 4900 RPMs so I have room for a few hundred r's. Thanks for your input.

We bought a labbed finished 15 1/4 by 26 Bravo 4 Blade from BBLADES and love it(25 V). Not only better top end but much better handling at all speeds. I am told BBLADES will modify a prop to match your boat if they are familar with the handling characteristics of your hull. Let me know if you ever want to sell your boat.

That Boat Will Go 88mph With That Power. Might Want To Try Less Diameter Prop And Get It To 5200rpm. Check Your Drive Height. How Far Is The Prop Shaft Below The Center Sponson

The Mercury 525 motor needs to run at 5350-5400 RPM at WOT to achieve max top end. You need 450-500 RPM actually to do so. I would recommend that you try some different props before labbing. Maybe quest can post his Bravo performance numbers as well as his Hering numbers, to help you out.
