How are the parts availability for the SSM3 and SSM3A Drives? I would love to stay with them, but have heard parts are scarce. Any truth to this?

I have 3As on my 41 and about a month ago I asked Matt at T&T that very ?. He said there should be parts for 8 to 10 more years with out a problem.

The SSM3A is a proven drive with a tremendous amount of Offshore hours behind it. Glad to hear that response from a knowledgeable source.
Thanks

Dennis was concerned at the amount of hp the 850's would give the #3s. he said it is border line on being to much but if proper throttling was given then the drives should last without a problem.

he also said parts are becoming more scares for these drives but still should be able to get them for the next few years

he is really knowledgable person and always willing to give no b.s. answers to these type of questions. If anyone needs detailed info on #3 drives they should just call him @ 920-233-6934.

come over to the Edock forum and introduce yourself and meet some of the other guys.. That apache would feel right at home on Grand. Theres really no other lake in Oklahoma I have ANY interest in boating on.. 77 miles from tip to tip, thats a fun run.. plus you can get 110+octane on the water and some of the fastest boats in the U.S. run up here.. Of course I put LOTO as my second fave just because im more comfortable here.. come on out and meet up with us, we'll damn sure show ya a good time..

Does it have 3's or 3A's??

Where is Dennis out of and what was the price to go through the drives? Any replacements needed in the drives or just clean things up inside?

I think I'm going to need to have my 3A's gone through soon and new prop shafts put on since the guy that owned our boat before me left the props on and let water settle in between the hub and the prop shaft causing pitting.

By the way, your boat looks awesome!

time and materials would be my guess......you will not know about certain parts till they take it apart....ie; gears, shafts ect......8 hrs labor is a good rule......the plus parts is the catch.....gears are not cheap.......magnaflex comes to mind...cya..

Come on now, Texoma is almost twice the size of grand and it was listed in the top ten places to live and boat by Powerboat Mag............ maybe you should atleast consider it.

it has #3 not #3as, total for mine was around $5000 with shipping to Oshkosh wi, the list of things he replaced is way to long to list here but he did find several things that were wrong with them ie.. Heated bearing due to wrong gear lube, shafts preloaded wrong and causing serious wear on two gears. in short there where several small things wrong that coulda turned into bigger problems especially with 850's. but me not knowing anything about the boat i just wanted a him to go through them and make them new again. Dennis said that the one drive could have gone in a week or a year its hard to tell but going through them was a must. i basically told him to make these drives as if they came new from him originally, but they are right you wont know how much its going to cost until he gets it apart. Seriously if you have any questions about your drives you really should just give him a call. hes always willing to give the best info and hes easy to deal with.

you guys should come down to okc and hit some lake draper some time (jk) it would make your lakes much more enjoyable. ha! Draper has is a lot of naked chicks and fights but no fun for running big boats.

waterboy... i will pm you when we are coming to grand... its a "for sure" thing. so get ready!

thisistank... are you going to the desert storm poker run? we are considering it.
