Coast guard may have issued a new vin tag. Is it a riveted on tag or molded in to the gelcoat? In Florida , if the vin is damaged , missing , ect. The coast guard , after verifying paperwork and boat , will issue new vin tag , but will not be original vin as before. Hope this helps. Good luck!!!

Century was licensed to build the Scouts in the nineties. I have a 27' Century that was made from the 27' Excalibur/Welllcraft Speedster molds. I guess they were trying to add more models without spending time and money on design and tooling.

That was my guess. Century built. Not 100%, but this thread says it would be CNT possibly if century. http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/a...e-scout-s.html

Story I was told was that at some point Dick Genth brought the molds with him when he joined Century boats. I talked with Bobby S at a boat show years ago and he said he wished he had those molds back !
