Thanks! Its been a fun boat. I found what I thought was a smoking deal on that Yamaha. After replacing all the fuel pumps it wasn't such a good deal after all $$$. Its a real good running motor now though.

what i am working with, a project of love no doubt. Your interior looks great!
Thanks Joker for your offer. JnT was there a weight savings in the motor swap? I really like the thought of a lighter Merc on the transom, plus i think the hp rating may be more?
Regards,
Chris

Toasty,
I believe the Yamaha is heavier than the Evinrude. I have an article by Al Stoker on how to build a reliable V6 OMC 300hp. That was the original route we were going to go. I ran across the Yammy and went with it to speed up the process of getting the boat on the water. Once we started running the boat we decided to just enjoy what we have. When the Yammaha blows ,(hopefully not for a long time!),I'll look for a used 300x or xs money permitting. I still have the OMC stuff if you need anything.

Thanks for your info! We are working with a 87 225 OMC and it seems to need mounts. I have been looking for a whole mid section, or even a spare power head to keep on the shelf. Going through the entire hull now, boy these things are built well even the brackets are well constructed which i thought was going to be the weakest link. Let me know what you have, i be happy to learn what parts your intersted in moving.

Hi Craney, No, I never owned that cigarette. I am not sure where that hull is, as it was a south jersey boat for a brief period. I did have it listed for a close friend at one point.
