Default MB Quart Stereo Upgrade

I am in the process of replacing my Clarion system with MB Quart speakers, sub and NRA450 head unit. I have a Clarion 10 disk changer and would like to replace it as well. What should I get that will work with the NRA450? Thanks.

the MB Quartz Marine 6.5's are great - very bright but need a lot of power.

MB Quart and Rockford Fosgate are the same company. The NRA450 and the RF RFX9220M are the same unit. I have a RFX9220M in my boat, and am very happy with it.

I didn't see a CD changer on the www.rockfordfosgate.com website. But with 10 hours of mp3 playback capability on a single CDR disk, who needs a changer?

Cheers,
Brian

The MBQuart speakers are fantastic. I can recommend better radio choices. I stock many different marine, car and home electronics and give OSO discounts. Feel free to call 813-882-8477.

Thanks for the help. What do you think about amp choices? I have 4 sets of NKD116's, a NRA450 (already had it) and a NWD 254 sub. What amp or amps do people suggest? MB said 1 QAA4250 for the speakers and a QAA1000 for the sub, but it doesnt make sense to me since both of these amps have higher outputs than my speakers can handle. 4250= 250W into 4 channels and 4 ohms and the QAA1000 is 1000W mono. The speakers are 130W max and the sub 150W max. I am not a car stereo wizzard, but I can do math.

I've got a Memphis Belle 1300D, a hybrid amp that does 75w x4 @4 ohms, as well as a 1100 x1 @1ohm subwoofer channel, all in a single (albiet large) case.

It's driving 4 6x9 MB Quart NKA169's, and 2 10" MB Quart NWD254 subs.

I have the R/F RFX9220M head unit, same as your NRA450. The NRAMR1 wired remote(s) are nice add-ons, one near the helm is a must, and some folks put another near the swim platform.

I also did a 1 farad capacitor to help the amp with some kick.

I see that Memphis Car Audio is doing marine amps this year, too. This stuff is "reference class" audio quality, and has conservative power ratings. Class A-B for the front channels, class D for the sub channel.

Good luck,
Brian

33donzidaytona,

I only live about 25 miles north of you. I'd be happy to give you a sound demo with the MB Quart / Memphis combo.

I couldn't see where these were on your site. Do you have any more? If so call or email me please, 800-558-8730 Chad

I have three extra pairs of NKA 169 6x9 speakers that will be going up on ebay shortly starting at $99.99 a pair.
