Hard to start>
I have a 1993 Fountain with twin 502's. The problem is I have to play with the shifters to get the starters to engage. Sometimes it's easy to get, sometimes not. Once you get on the neutral start switch starter's works fine. Seems to have a real narrow spot where the shifter has to be. Port side is worse.
Are the switches on the shifters or back at the engine?
Are they adjustable?
As far as I know they are the factory shifters.
Thanks for any help.

The switches are at teh shifters and ussualy have some kind of small adjustmednt even if it's just teh slop in the screws, it sounds to me like the two small mounting screws that hold the switches on might have come loose on yours, if you have acsess poke your head underneath and chek em out. there should be two yellow/red striped wires coming off of each of em.
