Question Trim tab help - electrical?

The starboard Eddie Marine tab will not go down. When I hit the down switch the solenoid clicks. The up activates the pump but nothing on the down. I just changed out the solenoid and noticed very little current when measured across both brass ends. The hot side (red) reads full current as long as I ground anywhere else. Ideas?

Thanks!

Check for power from the big terminal on the solenoid when it clicks. The contacts in there go bad and you will get a click but no power through.

Do you mean the large "hot" side terminal on the solenoid or somewhere else? This is a brand new solenoid and it is doing the same thing as the old one. I notice if I push on the green wire side the reading changes to full current. Possibly a bad new one?

Fixed it! Should have listened to my buddy that said it might be the ring terminal on the solenoid wires. Kept checking with the meter and found it appeared to be shorting in the terminal. Replaced and I'm back in business!
