8.1 Engine dropped and head bolts snapped???
I am looking at an engine from a freight company that was supposedly dropped. A machine shop has looked at it and determined that two head bolyts have sheared at the block deck. How hard would an engine have to be dropped to shear a head bolt? What else could be wrong with the motor if this is what actually happened? 8.1 liter marine 525 HP.....

It sounds to me if the head bolts were broken off it was dropped hard. and there would be many other things that could be damaged.
the heads passably cracked (more than likely). possible block hairline cracked .
I don't think I would buy it unless I knew how much was damaged.
