Default Negative battery cable connection ?

I am currently installing a 454 Mag MPI from 1999 (MEFI3 and cool fuel version) replacing my 454 Mag carb from 1989. On the old engine the negative battery cable was connected to a stud on the front starboard engine mount. Because of the cool fuel bracket on the new engine, there is not a lot of room for the negative battery cable, so now I am wondering where the factory connects the negative battery cable on a 454 Mag MPI from 1999 ?

on my 1997 502 cool fuel, the negative battery cable attaches to one of the bell housing studs at the rear of the engine.

you can attach it to any bolt you want that goes into the engine block. Preferbly one of the same size as where it used to attach so you don't have to change the lug on the cable. The back of the bellhousing is the most dommon place now.

Just to add a couple of things make sure you use a clean non painted stainless bolt or stud and nut with clean washers. Ground is ground as long as it has a solid connection to the block.

Thanks guys. I have put new studs on the bellhousing, so I think that will be the best place to ensure a good connection. Thanks again.
