Re: Gear ration 1.35 vs 1.50
All that info has yet to be determined. However as a 525efi boat it was geared 1.5 with 32 pitch props running 82. Now there is 775 hp and what ever in needed to get the speed out of it . I want to see 100. I was trying to understand when you would use a different ratio over the other.
Thanks

The higher gears are a little stronger (more tooth contact area) and will run a little cooler. Probably isn't worth switching if you have 1.50 already though.

Generally, you will get the best overall performance by staying with the 1.5:1 until you totally run out of available props (~37'). The real question is, what RPM do you plan on turning to get your 775 hp? If your motors can spin 5800 or more, you definitely can stay with the 1.5 setup, otherwise consider the swap. Make sure your drives are up to the task as well!
