Anything new from Dragon?

I haven't heard much news about any new Dragons coming down the pipeline. I was hoping we would get to see another cool project for the Ft. Lauderdale or Miami Boat Show! Does anyone know if they have any boats in the works now?

BTW, how many Dragons have been built & sold so far?

Just talked to Scott Smith the other day. Pleasure boat number 4 is almost complete. Along with the Your In Command race boat that is a total of 5 complete.

Cool! So they are currently working on pleasure boat #4. Are they working on any other pleasure boats at this time? Perhaps #4 will be the Miami Boat show boat?

Re: Anything new from Dragon?

Thanks Andy. Boay number 4 is almost done going to a long time EX Cigarette owner he has had one of every size, Hates Skip, Neil and the boats and there attitude. Loves Dragon
#6 is almost ready to be taken from the mold and rigged for RAcing in England and all of Europe. #7 again a race/pleasure going to England. Then a couple more to Italy. Then back her for a couple. Finally they are catching on as a safe fast boat. Now we have to step up production and make more, oh crap that means I will have to work hard, oh well. We will be in the First all performance boat show in Sarasota next May. We have the best spot in the Show front lobby. It is for only boats over 750 HP should be cool. As far as Miami goes we have such a crappy spot no-one ever finds us. It will take years to get a good one, so we are 50/50 on weahter to go. Thanks for asking, We have moved offices to Fastboats .com in Pompano, stop bye and see what a class act Randy and Kim Sweers have, no more dusty dirty boat like before class, class class. I dont know why we are there but oh well.

CB and I are founding partners. I do all the purchasing, handle the building after CB gets done in Melbourne. We have worked together from 1984 at Brand X. # 2 is in Oscala FL I believe at Tres's shop up there.
Eric, We have been using your boat every weekend, we hate to send it back, kidding, it got hit by as train, kidding, CB will be off to X-Site next week I am told, looks great, out of all the fancy Nortec paint jobs here, most people like yours.

Hey CB!

How about designing a Limited Edition called the "Sea Dragon" Maybe neon green, red and silver with big Cobra engines and # 6's. A mean bad ass, fire breathing monster that scares the sh*t out of Cigarettes. That would be something I would be interested in seeing.

Is the owner of the boat mentioned a member on this particular board.

Re: Anything new from Dragon?

Speaking first hand as a Dragon owner....

You can ask any questions...

I have owned Baja's, Fountains and ran many other performance boats...

We are making some minnor changes with the Dragon, that has nothing to do with the way the boat was built...just the way we origianally rigged it...

I can tell you its built like a tank...but yet is fast....
even with our X-dementions to low...we still are seeing 102+ and still on the limiter at Mercury in Nov....thus the rigging changes...

Its the only boat I have run that in 3 to 5 footers it fly's level with no tabs....

I also have never been in a boat that had so little shock on impacted with the water...we are racing with the same seats as all the Dragons..I have been in boats with shock seats and/or racing seats that have a higher impacted level on your back....

Handling....until you run one of these boats....you really can't say anything....the best advise I can give you is take one for a ride...and let the boat do the talking....

If I was not racing in one now....I would buy #1 that is up for sale right now....I have seen the boat in person..I know how they run and handle, the boat has low hours and has been taken care of....and pricing...nothing out there compares on the market today...

Just my 2 cents....

Re: Anything new from Dragon?

Not to be a jerk, but I still am interested in the Dragon with the prop problems. They seem like nice boats, is there a problem with just that particular one? Would like to know for future reference.

Re: Anything new from Dragon?

Call Scott Smith or Craig Barrie at Dragon 954. 581.8355

Not sure which boat you are referring to but if it is number 1 then there are no prop problems.

Re: Anything new from Dragon?

No offense, but would rather hear from someone other than the manufacturer first, like the actual owner of the boat in question.

I am the owner of Dragon #3, the boat in question. First let me say that the post that was deleted was not appropriate for this forum. Second the boat is great, it just needs a few tweeks here and there. The boat is at the SPA right now getting everything fixed and a few BIG add on's The boat just had the wrong prop's and gears. I am happy I bought the boat and will bee even happier when the new stuff is installed.
