Default imco extreme sc ?

Next year I plan to up grade power to approx 750+
currently at 600+ and have an xz drive. I ran across an imco sc for $5500.00 w/ 20 hrs in good shape. Question... Should I pick this up?

I need a seasoned vetrans advice.

I recently put a set of imco shortie 2" lowers on xz drives behind 496 ho's. I haven't ran them yet due to cold weather. Anything to be concerned about there?

It would be helpful to know what kind of problems you have experienced with the IMCO's. Thanks

I dont see any particular problems with the SC. They suck just as much as a Bravo XR. The design of both are so similar, they both have the same weakness. After all, Imco uses Merc gears, nothing special there. Although I broke an Imco vertical shaft last year, I believe the shafts are a bit better. I had the old style vertical shaft with the oiling hole. Their new shaft design doesnt have that useless hole, so may be better.

My father has over 200 hrs on 575 sci's running through Bravo xr's on his 36 Baja. Never experienced a problem with drives, so what seems to be the problem with summing them up as they "just suck"?
