Default Article on cam failures....

The latest issue of HOT ROD has a good article titled "When Good Cams Go Bad".
It deals with the escalating failures of flat-tappet cams. The article sites the use of cheap no-name brand lifters, high spring pressures, improper break-in, as well as the reduced anti-friction additives in todays oils for the failures.

Pickup a copy and read it. Very informative.

Wonder if there is any correlation between these types of failures and the roller lifter failures some of you have experienced.
