Battery Charger in Late 80's Cig
In my 88 Bullet there is a battery charger in the engine compartment. It is basicly a big black battery charger. Does anybody know any info about these chargers? Specifically are they trickle chargers or ? Also, my batterys went totally dead because I left the radio on and was wondering how long to leave that charger on so it doesn't cook the batterys.
Thanks
Thanks

on my rig where the battery switches are there is a volt gauges... to keep track while charging.
I don't find mine to be a trickle charger... It charges very quickly. It's important not to overcharge.

Thanks Drypipe,
I also have a volt meter between the battery switches. I just don't know if the charger will turn off when it reaches max. charge.

I don't find that mine does.
Doesn't your altinator charge? The radio only uses juice from one battery. When we're anchored if the battery gets to low to start I start from the other battery then switch to the low batt and it charges on the way to the launch.

True, I do the same thing wile anchoring out. The only thing is that I left the radio on mute all week long so the batterys are totally dead. I had them on the charger for like the last 7 hours.

I see... Well that should be plenty. Check your gauge where the switches are. I wouldn't trust that it would shut off automatically.
