North Michigan Labor Day Wknd...who'll be around?
Some friends and I are planning to be in the Cheboygan area for the Labor Day weekend...staying at the Fleetwood Inn (formerly the Days Inn) right on the Cheboygan River. We have a room with a boat slip and will be traveling on the Inland Waterway via Mullet Lake, Indian River, Burt Lake, etc. We are also going to attempt a trip over to Macinaw Island and St. Ignace.
I have never been up there with my boat and look forward to seeing it from the water....anyone else going to be up and around that way----Wrink, Perfectmix, YZbert, Smitty, JB4...anyone?

I did the entire Inland Waterway, from west to east, about 9 years ago. Cool locks, lots of wildlife, and some neat old cottages. Great trip, everyone should do it once, but I would probably not do it again...there is just too much no wake zone.
Try to stop at the marina (sorry I can't remember where) that works on old wooden boats, they have some finished ones in a showroom and others being restored out in their shop.
