Re: Anyone familiar with this engine builder
Knew I had heard that name, he was/is involved with the engine masters challenge by popular hot rodding.
This is his site, no personal knowledge http://www.impastatoracingengines.com/

No personal knowledge either but looks like he's got one cool dyno cell. Even set up for twin carb applications.
In June of 2003, after a year of planning and construction, Impastato Racing
completed it's new dyno testing cell. The test cell features a Superflow SF-901
Engine Dynamometer with all the latest Wyndyn computer software, air-handling and
testing upgrades. In the fall of 2003, Superflow technicians were so impressed with
the installation, Impastato Racing was chosen as one of the three national sites to
host the Engine Masters Challenge, sponsored by Popular Hot Rodding magazine.
Whether you are an engine builder, racing professional or hobbyist, we would like
the opportunity to be your testing source.

Looks like he is good at what he does. Any issues with him beefing up a 502HO for marine applications?

Re: Anyone familiar with this engine builder
I have done transmissions for several very serious drag racers (national record holders) that use him for their motor builds. I heard they do top notch work and are very exspensive. He is also very particular in what he uses in a motor,I sent a dart aluminum block to him thru one of these guys I know to do the finish work on it 7 years ago and he sent it back untouched, said he didn't like them and that I'd have nothing but problems with it. Never heard of him doing any marine work so if you do go with him just be careful of the typical drag engine builder mentaility of over-camming the motor because of lack of understanding of what really works good in a marine application,I've seen that time and time again,Smitty
