How do you pull engine with TRS drive / BW tranny ?
I need to pull my port engine. I`ve got TRS drives / Borg-Warner transmissions.
I`ve pulled engines with Bravo drives, so I already know the basics. But how do you pull engine if it has a tranny behind it ?
Do I need to pull eng / trans as a unit or what ?
TIA

We just pulled a HP800/SSM III yesterday. We left the tranny on the motor. Just make sure you have enough room in front of the engine. You need to pull the engine forward and up.
Drive removed of course. Took about 2h. from start t finish.

I don`t have much room in front of engine. Looks easier to leave bellhousing attached to trans.
So --- How do you line up engine upon reassembly ?
With this method, do you have to pull drive ?

If you separate engine block from bell-housing and leave the bell-housing/tranny in boat, there should be no reason to re-align on re-assembly. (and of course, this way you don't mess with the outdrive at all) --- Jer

Why don`t you need to re-align? the tranny is mounted on to "ears" on the inner transom and can be moved up or down when the engine is removed. If the engine is tilting more up or down when reinstaling then the alignment will be off, wouldn`t it?
Just curious, newer put one back inn. First time this time

I`m off to the shop --- engine should be sitting on the floor in a little while.
Then pull the camshaft...

AS LONG AS THE ENGINE IS GETTING BOLTED BACK IN THE SAME PLACE IE THE BRACKET IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR IT TO BE MIS ALIGHNED..............IT IS GOING BACK IN THE SAME EXACT POSITION//////////
