Houseboat property theft at Lake Cumberland Poker Run
Earlier this month at Cumberland, our company Lake Trash was fortunate enough to be a co-sponsor the Poker Run. In turn we were provided with an incredible houseboat at State Dock in the 700's row.
Anywho, some very considerate people thought they would be helping our new company gain momentum by torching the rope attached to our official Lake Trash blimp and just letting it fly away. We know this because it was very apparently by the black fray that someone burnt the rope and did not slice or cut it off. No folks, this wasn't an accident....lighters do not just magically find their way to ropes. We estimate this happened between 4 and 5 am sometime, due to when everyone went to bed and when our first Lake Trash member was up.
I can't help but wonder if the damn thing landed somewhere? Even if it hit the lake and sank, someone surely had to see it hit the water. It's HUGE! So if anyone out there...anyone at all....happens to see a deflated $700 all-white blimp with blue lettering and our logo and website on it, please contact either myself or general info at www.laketrash.com and we will take it from there. We miss our blimp and we just want it back . We have no proof of who did it, so we cannot point any fingers. With an all-access dock, it literally could have been anyone.

Falls more under vandalism than theft, but that still sucks. Can you file an insurance claim for such?
Those blimps are made of a very strong material; similar to weather balloons. It probably stayed inflated for some time on its ascent, enough for the wind/upper air currents to carry it many, many miles from the lake. The rope would have burned through, but once the blimp got high enough, I would think the rope more than likely burned out due to lack of oxygen, before the fire on the rope damaged the blimp. I'd venture to guess that it went east; due to the weather that moved in the next day, but its probably long gone.

Hello; thanks so much for your advice. We will look into an insurance claim for sure. Still no word on it, but we have reordered a similiar version. Man those things aren't cheap.....
