Draining EMI thunder exhaust?
I will be pulling the boat out & winterizing next weekend . This wiil be the first time winterizing since my local shop istalled EMI thunder exhaust last year. I forgot to look for where to drain the manifolds. Mercruiser stock exhaust had the blue plastic wingbolts, but I don't recall the EMI's having a drain plug.
Can anyone shed some light on draining the manifolds & if any special tools are required?
Thanks Chris

Re: Draining EMI thunder exhaust?
It is possible that they reused the Merc fittings in the EMI exhaust. They also could have put new ones in because most of the time they break when trying to get them, especially if they have been in for a while. If you do not have the Merc style with the drains, them use a flat blade screwdriver to remove the clamp and hose at the bottom of the manifold to drain the water. After it drains, replace the hose and clamp.

EMI's have small brass drain plugs, one on each cylinder. I think they are Allen heads. I put a little pipe sealer on them when I reinstall.
