Default Ok, what do I look at next?

I've got a 34' Super Hawaii with staggered 454 mags pulling about 425hp each. Untill my last time out ( for the season ) I have been dissapointed with my top speed. I could only spin the engines to 4700rpm @ 67 mph. If I would trim my boat much past nuetral it would start to porpuse and I would have to drop the tabs to stop the porpusing. My last ride the water was perfect 18" chop, running into the wind with a light load. I was able to trim about 2 numbers above nuertral and run my tabs level. I hit 70.5 @ 4950-5000rpm .
I am running 25" Mirage Pluses. That puts me at 10-11% slip. Not bad for a 25* deep V. My props have been labbed. Should I be looking to tweek my props just a little more to get to 5200 WOT rpm? Or should I be looking at a set of Arneson rocker tabs so I can stop scrubbing of speed with the tabs?

Has anyone tried Arneson Rocker plates? http://arneson-industries.com/Arneso...r%20Plates.htm

I've talked to Rik at Arneson, It sounds like my boat would be a good candidate for them. I'd like to hear some sucsess stories. Or horror stories.

I was thinking a 38 Top Gun, but AT would be great too, maybe even a 36 Skater.

you sure you don't have fuel sloshing or maybe the freshwater tank in the nose of the boat sloshing?

If your hull is fairly true (no rocker or hook) then you should be able to run with your tabs lifted clear and some positive trim. You want to try to carry at least the front third of the hull clear of the water.

I'm not familiar with your hull, but I would take a straightedge to it and see whatcha got, once I made sure no liquids were contributing to the problem. Might be something as weird as lack of baffles in the tanks..

Mike and Andy, you guys are a big help!

Mcollinstn, I have 2 rear 70 gal tanks outboard of the engines. The is a fresh water storage tank somewhere in the bow that I have never used. I think it's empty. I had better check. I removed a slight hook from my hull last winter. That really freed up my hull to let me run much higher in the water.

Andy, how much of my hull was clear of the water when we were running sideby side the other day? From my vantage point, it seemed like I was at least a third.

I wish I knew you wanted to know, I was focusing on driving the boat. But from what I can remember it look like everything in front of the fairing was out of the water. Sorry, next time my passenger or I will pay closer attention, better yet maybe we can video it. Now whats up with the CIG

No plans on a CIG. I do have to teach someone to drive the CAT today.

Give me a call when you get a chance today.
