That first clip looked like 31st street, we used to go out there sometimes with a 10 second IROC that was a driver with single exhaust. and that last clip , is that the same Vega that hit the pole in the Yards?

First clip was on Ogden ave, just west of the cicero ave bridge going west.
The white camaro, was on ogden ave and austin blvd going west. Just around the corner of my buddy's shop, M&H Autocraft. Merele Mangles, the guy that owned the corvette in the other thread.
Don't know about the vega, just some brotha's racing on ogden & kostner, heading west to the cicero ave bridge.
We put alot of rubber on that street in that area from the late 60's till the mid 90's.

That's almost like Broadway, on the South side of Gary, back in the early to mid 70s. At least that's when I was there. I know it started a lot early and went a lot latter. I never had anything really to race. Some friends of mine had a cars that would "cruise". A few 70 Cudas with 440, one of them a six pack. Another had a real sleeper 69 Mustang with 428 SCJ.
My cousin had a 73 Z28, blue with white stripes. King Speed shop in South Holland, built his engine. He drove it everyday and ran it at US 30 on Weekends and what was it? Wednsday nights?

Hey Frank....you guys ever run into a guy that ran a camaro just like that white one but in all yellow with lic plates "KILLER Z"?? that guy used to live about 2 blocks from my parents house and you could feel the walls of the house shake when he started it up! I loved it
There was also a vega just like that one in the vid that used to visit Fluky's here in Niles on Milwaukee and Greenwood.....that thing was wiked sick at the time.....twin turbo smallblock...the guy that built it also built the twin turbo system for a late 80's mustang gt convertable called "SHABOOM" very cool cars back in the day

Street racing was the only racing I ever really enjoyed. I used to make a regular habit of it when I was working at a speed shop up in Muskegon MI, early-mid seventies.
