A real good 525 will make 570HP.From Mercury they have been known to vary between 538 to 556 on average. The best 525 i have seen on a dyno was 573HP................Thats legal

I am pretty impressed with the dyno numbers on the 525 EFI. But why is there such a big variance in the numbers ? From app. 540 - 575 HP. Is that due to production tolerances, before/after break-in (if that makes a difference) or what ?

Re: EFI525 dyno data anybody?
FYI the dyno lab that I referenced has tested a number of EFI525's and advised that they consistantly produced 565 cshp - 575 cshp. This dyno lab uses the HiPerf motor industry standard HP rating (60*F ambient air temperature) and not the SAE rating system (77*F ambient air temperature) used by the OEM automobile manufacturers.
