Remote oil cooler install....
Purchased a 3" by 20" oil cooler/ps cooler. Bought the stringer mounts from TRICK.
I know 388 had a couple of post on this, but I'm wonder what the best routing for the water inlet hose going in and out of the cooler and also do they make pre-bent hose to get back up to my thermostat housing? I will be scrapping the stock hoses and coolers.
Its a 29 scarab with a 502 mpi. I'm going to have to figure out how to snake it up through the exhaust manifold hoses without it looking like a cheap righ job.
Any help or info for finding hoses and routing would be great!!
Thanks,
Shawn

Re: Remote oil cooler install....
maybe run your 1 1/4 hose from the water neck on gimbal , turn it down and then turn owards port side of boat. i would mount the cooler on the port side of the stringer near the stern is accesable. use quick disconects from xrp for the oil lines incase of a major service issue. the cooler should be plumbed 1"pipe thread so try to find a radiused 90 degree fitting to bring the water supply out of cooler and into crossover.

monstaaa .. you lost me on that one ...from the water neck needs to go to the RWP first ? I'm sure there is something I am missing here .....
Shawn ..... I am building some 496's (na) .. my coolers are 3x18 ... Trick has some mounts that will bolt to the bellhousing ...come straight back from RWP on Starboard side and then up to the cooler ...exit the cooler on the port side ..back down then forward to the "Kool Fuel"

Re: Remote oil cooler install....
Offthefront,
Already bought the stringer mounts from trick. I think I can find some 1 1/4 hose to swing underneath the engine to go from the the starboard to the port side of the engine where I'm mounting the cooler. I already have a aeromotive fuel pump mounted on the starboard stringer.
I'm hoping to find some factory bend long radius 90's to get me up to the water neck.

If you need any closer pics of something, let me know. It would be no problem to take a few pics. BTW, you can get all the necessary plumbing fittings and hoses from Summit or Jegs.
