Default Transon Exhaust Hole Standard?

Is there any kind of a standard about where exhaust holes should be placed on the transom? It seems if you put the holes to perfectly fit one exhaust manifold/riser setup, that when you changed to another, the transom exhaust holes would be in the wrong place. Do boat manufacturers put the holes in a different place for say a 496 Mag versus an HP525?
