Default Out drive corosion help

A buddy of mine purchased a boat that was in salt water. It is an express crusier and the water pick up is in the outdrive. The saltwater did a number on the drives and started eating away at the aluminum.

The pick ups were caked with chalky crap, and he cleaned all that up, problem is the inner part of the drive seems to be a bit clogged because he is not getting good flow out of one of them. He plans to purchase new drives next year, but he is kinda low of funds so trying to get through the season. Any product out there that he can flush through his outdrive to clean that chalky crap out?

He flushed it with a garden hose and it improved the water flow out of the sea water pick up significantly, but flow is still less then the other side. Good news is, he has no water in his drive fluid so the problem is not too bad.

It was probably stray electricity in the water from other boats around. I've seen signs of it after one night at the Hyatt in Sarasota.

Salt Away will not flush away existing corrosion. It will prevent and deter corrosion.

After reading, I see that. Any way to use some type of acid or something that works at the white chalky stuff that gets built up because of aluminum deterioration?
