Triple Threat
Anyone know what happened to the Awesome cat name Triple Threat? It was an outboat boat that originally had 3 (imagine that) outboards on it, but just two the last time I saw anything about it.
For some reason, this boat popped into my head the other day and I was wondering if anyone ended up buying it.

The last time I have seen this boat was in Michigan quite some time ago. I remember when the boat was first built, The boats original owner put some old used race motors on the boat and it kept popping lower units. The weight of the boat did not help for sure. That boat would of been a perfect I/O boat with some big power in it. I wrode on the boat once when first built and it would take the water like it was nobodys buisness.
Best I can do for you.

Triple Threat
Well, for all ????????????
Triple Threat is now in Montreal Canada
I bought the boat last summer, less the 2.4 motors that were included.
I have installed 3, 225 efi promaxs (2.5l)
Running 2 3 blades coppers & 1 4 blade for the middle.
I was told this boat was to heavy to run outboards.
So, I bought 3 225 for testing.
She is running 85-86 mph with stock promax motors.
This winter I am hoping to change the 3 motors for either 280 or 300hp motors.
I think with a little more power, I can hit the 100 mark
Still testing, it still has more.
Yes, heavy boat but eats up any waves from cabin cruisers without slowing down.
I love it & will post pics soon.
All the strips & stickers have been removed. She in now all red.
I am looking at new stickers if anybody has good ideas, please let me know what design works.
P.S.: Even has a bed in it.

Give McLeod Interiors a call. 734-942-1166
They built most of the cockpit interiors for the Awesome Boats.

I am thinking about having some new doors/frames made for my 31. I will keep you guys informed as to my efforts and results. The original doors/frames/hardware can be improved upon without a doubt.

Feline frenzy, was this the boat that had never been assembled, deck not joined to the hull, with no bulkheads, or stringers?

Contact ViciousOne on here. Sparky has been around the Awesome's enough to know what's needed and can easily improve on the design I'm sure. For those of you that don't know Vicious Marine out of Harrison twp they build a 32' cat and have years of experience from Ocean Express. Not to mention there's always an Awesome or two coming in for work. Anyways great guy/company. Figured this might help as i notice a lot of you are from Michigan.

Doors
Are the doors worth having or just a waiste of time.
Do they make the opening smaller ?
Im thinking of getting leather with snaps made or would they look stupid ?
I am repainting the boat next spring,
Does anyone know which is the best paint.
Dont care about the paint cost, I have a guys that will paint for free & he is very good.
Im painting the deck & sides, but not the bottom.
The boat sits in the water for about a month at a time & I am worried about it peeling.
Thanks to all,
Jeff
Any help with good paint.

IMHO the doors are needed. They really don't make the opening that much smaller. A fabric type of door with snaps would be a total pain in the azz. On the paint side, Mitch Tolan did all of the factory Awesome paint jobs, so he may help on paint issues.
I would really, really, really recommend you haul your boat done to Harrison Township--Visious Marine and see Sparky. As fantastixvoyage said, he has a ton of experience getting things done right on the Awesome hull. If you are serious about your project, take the time and do it right----with the right people.

paint
rotax454.
Thanks for your help.
I agree in putting back the original doors.
As long as they dont rattle, I hate rattles
As for paint, not sure what to do ?
I have a buddy in Montreal that paints the planes for Air Canada & he has done a few boats, but just not sure in the paint type.
I will freak if it peels after
He is a very good painter, Is there a difference in painting boats.
Im looking at painting all red, except the bottom,
Top & sides only.
After adding graphics.
I agree, I only want to do it one time & it better be good.
What you think.
Thanks guys,
I will add pics soon, love the boat with 3 outboards.
