502 Gen VI Valve Spring Pressure
Motor experts, I need some help. I am having some heads checked and need to verify the following for a stock GEN VI 502:
Roller lifters, stock cam, etc. etc.
For the valve train,
1. What is the Installed Height
2. What is open/Close spring pressure for the stock springs
thanks -

Merc from the factory manual calls for
110 lbs on the seat (closed)
316 over the nose (open)
1.88" installed height
IMO these numbers are crazy low. a MINIMUM of 130 on the nose, if not 140

Duke - thanks for the information, and that was why I was asking. The valve seats showed signs that the valve springs did not have enough pressure and the engine builder was recommending the 130-140 closed.
