Default 388/ how is the ride in the rough

this is a questions for the 388 owners.I am looking at 38,s (all). how is the ride in the rough water compared to a cig, fountain, baja.i rode in a 38 fountain and didn't like the ride in the rough. speed is not an issue but i dont want a plug that takes big power to go fast.please be honest . i dont want a boat that slaps or pounds the waves but one that cuts through at 50 to 65 mph range or crusing speed.

I agree with Thorough, It is the best i've been on also. I looked at alot of 38's and it seemed to not only be a comfortable ride but also is a light weight boat which is great for performance.if you have any questions. I just purchased mine about a month ago and looked at alot and talked to alot of people before actually making the purchase. Let me know if I can be of any help.

The Slingshot has a decent ride in the rough. Not the best but it does well. The best 38ft ride is a Top Gun hands down. But with the Cig you dont get all the features that the Hustler gives you.

Active Thunder...best of both worlds IMO. (I have a Formula, great ride...but needs big power)

Default Talk to Vee and Charlie

You really want to know what that boat can do! Talk to Vee and Charlie from www.voomvoom.com, they have taken that boat in water that no one else has. Working on the video that they have from the races and will post it up soon so you can see the boat in the big stuff.

Just came back with the AT guys from Key West. We encountered 6-8' a portion of the way back, those 37 A.T.'s did great. I use to own Radio Active...the newer A.T's are vastly improved, excellent boats, at least check them out. The Slingshots are also nice boats, different ride, they also look good, but only been in 4 of them in relatively smooth water so can't comment on rough water ride. Good Luck.

Own a 99' 388 Slingshot and can't be more impressed with the boat. Have run in 6'+ conditions on Lake Michigan, and the boat doesn't slap/pound - glides right thru the rough stuff. Cruise is 66pmh at 3600rpm and 90mph WOT. Boat is going on market before Spring if you are interested email me at: [email protected] More than happy to help with additional questions or pics.

take a ride in a cig top gun before you make your deal. no comparison between the two, apples and oranges. nothing against the hustler, both of my neighbors have 388's. hustler makes one of the nicest looking boats on the market, even nicer looking while running. the cig is a quieter, smoother ride. you can't get hurt either way, resale is good on both of them, both desirable. just my 2 cents.

If your not in a hurry, you can come ride and drive mine.I am prob about 3 1/2 hours from ya.I should have it back in the water in March. But we dont have ruff water here.

I have a buddy with a 01 38 TG that Ive driven, it does take the big water better,But it does feel heavier.I driven a buds 36 outlaw ,its has a good ride also,Its has the 496 mags ,it does feel under powered compared to the 500efi boats.

What year and price range boat you looking at? Also the 38 Scarab's ?
