is there a way to make it not so silent. want a litle more noise but not annoying any suggestions. 1989 7.4 bravo mercruiser 454 330hp 600hrs. no problems strong engine want to keep it that way.

What he said, do a search on the Formula forum. You can take a sawzall and cut away the baffles or drill 2" holes on the bottom of the box where the drain plugs are. Check out this thread...you should do this as well if you are going to keep the box on there.

thanks guys I wish i could afford something bigger but having a great time runs 56mph and its good size to trailer here in woodslee canada gas is currently 4.20 pr gallon so im glad i dont have twins FOR NOW ive only had it for three months it is immaculate everybody loves it thumbs up when im in the marina makes you feel good for sure. going to look in to a lttle more noise thanks alot this site is excellent Moe

had a quick look today stuck my hand in there and seen the baffle. so if i drill two 1.5inch holes side by side towards the top of the baffle that should help right. after reading most of the post i can understand now the concept. the boat should sound a little more like when its in the driveway with the muffes on. loud, or like when its on plane the box is probably empty of water. their is currently one small drain hole on the bottom closer to the transon. should i just try the holes in the baffles first. i can remove the stainless rectangle tips and get in there pretty quick. thanks for the info WINTER SUCKS

Drilling holes thru the bottom of the box allows that heavy water to drain out more quickly as well.

I actually knocked my baffles completely out on my 89 223, all it is are a couple of peices of plywood covered is resin, stagered to baffle the sound, they will come out, trust me.
