Default Gen Vi Front Seal

Can you buy the front timing cover crankshaft seal as a part and if so what's it called?I have heard with the Gen VI you must buy the timing cover as a part including the seal. Thanks

You can get it from your local Chevy or GMC dealers parts dept. Just ask for a Gen 6 frt crank seal. It way cheaper than buying one from Merc.

If the balancer is rusted and/or pitted you can put a seal saver on it. It is a real thin sleeve that goes on the balancer. You can get it and the seal from just about any auto parts store. (Auto Zone, Napa etc)
Eddie.
