Angry Ebay scams and hotmail hacking

What a week! Just recovered my hotmail account and a few days before my Ebay account and this thread hopefully will warn you guys to watch out.

First problem was a listing on Ebay in my account but not done by me that Ebay picked up and fixed. Using the link I rest the account and created a new password.

Next day couldn't get into ither Ebay or Hotmail - nightmare begins!

What has happened is a hacker from China has got into my hotmail account some time ago and is just monitoring it. Made his move on Ebay via the hotmail account using the forgotton password option and locked me out of hotmail via a new password, a new secret question (in Chinese) and creating a new alternate email address.

So guys make sure all passwords are different and if you get any strange stuff going on on Ebay change them.

Ebay fixed on the day thanks to their tremendous help (using chat) Guy calls me up from the US to take me thru the security reset - fantastic service. Hotmail fixed it today via a validation service which is thorough- so ignore the general internet chat that says you cant get your account back.

Hacker left one clue the alternate email on the hotmail account was: [email protected]

Scumbag!

Kirk, they're the same company. You should call eBay and ask them to transfer you to PayPal!

I think paypal are in the park - impressed also with hotmail (but your need to remember your folders and emails sent/recieved and let them know to get your account back.

Let me know paypal issues - I think they want to help
