Engine hatch question...
Hey guys,
I removed the electric engine hatch lift from my '86 242 for a few reasons. I want to install the manual lift support pistons, like I have seen in a few other 242's. I just need to know what size pistons to buy, and where to mount the ball brackets? Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

I'll tell ya if you can give me the measurments of your manual pistons...lol. J/K.
First of all, my electric piston took a crap on me last year, and they are not cheap to replace. Second, the electric piston lifts the heavy hatch from one side, and it leaned to one side big time. This made it open and close like crap. Also, I went from a small block to a big block, and the big block is wider. The piston hit the exhaust manifold, and that was the last straw for me...lol, I'm going manual.
