Default Insurance Question

I am looking at purchasing a 27-29 ft. brand new single I/O either V-hull or deckboat. Boat value would be around $125k. Would be 525EFI.

Now here's the kicker. One person that needs to be on the policy has a DUI from '02, a submit to chemical test in '09 (state farm says that is basically a DUI) and an expired license from '09 stemming from the suspension from the chemical test. State Farm will not insure him.

What would be the expense of adding this person to the policy? Is it even possible?

I'm not sure where your from or who you intend to insure with but I'm not sure I would want to have a driver with a history like that on my policy. I am sure however that it will be quite an expensive addition to your premium, IF they will even write you a policy. Is it absolutely nessasary for this person to be listed as a driver? Not my bussiness also but there seems to be quite a long history here with DUI. Maybe it's not the best idea for you or them. Here in PA 3 strikes of DUI and its some lengthy jail time. Sorry if I am stepping over the line. Just my 2ct's worth.

Very long response short. I highly doubt this person could be on your policy. IF the carrier allowed him/her to be on the policy then that person will likely add a good amount to your rate. My guess though is that the person won't be allowed on the policy. Performance carriers have very strict rules when it comes to adding operators to policies and someone's MVR tells part of their story. Two DUIs = high risk

I agree 100% with Stacy's response. Most insurance carriers will not add an operator who has two DUI's and an expired license.
