post #760 in this thread over on SW shows a 272 moored up next to a 271. From an outside perspective there isn't much difference. However I'm told the 272 has more interior space. Significantly heavier too.

Default 271 For Sale

Hello pocketchange, I am looking for a 271 that I can take the wife and kids around in. How reliable do you think your motor is. I need to know if it will leave me stranded in big canadian lakes. Just looking for an honest oppinion.

I would think an older 272 is more comparable to a newer 292.

I almost bought a '95 Indy 271 back in the summer of 2002. It was owned originally by a guy in Illinois and then traded into Glen Cove Marine at LOTO. No idea what hull number it was but it was a clean boat. The 502 MAG was painted purple. Never knew if that was stock or not. Could have been bought for $40K on trailer back then. Cool boats.

The engines were painted a mixture of purple, maroon, and green.

Yep, my motor looked exactly like the pics. Still have the original manifold, and a 2.3 liter " sidewinder " whipple- charger. (painted same color scheme). Great boat, got a hard-on one day and traded up to a 2006 292 fastech. Love the boat, miss the big power. New mills are only 320hp a side.

INDY #15 is currently for sale @ Lakeport landing....Not for the faint of heart. $hitting aside that thing was an animal.
