Default National Harbor Marina is Terrible

I got home from work today and ventured out into the dirty, debris everywhere, Potomac. Since it was anice day I was planning on going to the Harbor, docking the boat and walking up to get some dinner. We got there at 5:15 and docked the boat. i called the harbor number that is posted on the "Get Permission Before Docking" signs. The message said they closed at 5 so i thought I was gonna dock for free. Then the Rent A Cops came and told me I cant dock here b/c they are closed, but If I would have called before 5 and paid by credit card it would be fine. $10 They stayed there until I left.
What a joke, I was pissed.

After 4 days of rain the Potomac is usually in pretty poor shape, trash wise. With all the creeks feeding it and the higher than normal tides, you probably did see a lot of trash especially closer to D.C. You are not the first to complain about National Harbor, no free transient parking, and $10.00 an hour to park to walk up and spend money in one of their establishments, is crazy. If you go by car its no better, no public parking, you have to park in their parking garage. They got you coming or going.

I docked there a few weeks ago. They charged me $20 for up to 4 hours on a Sunday. Nice wide slip, dock girl helped me tie up.

No issues except for the price.

Someone was drunk last night and got home at 3AM and had to get someone to bring him to work at 4:45AM.

Not it.

The bad part is I bet other places will start charging to tie up just for lunch and diner. I can see a 2-3 $ per foot if you are hooking up to power and water but not just for and hour or so.
