Sorry you also asked for advice on insuring the boat.... So I delected my previous post.
Be prepared to provide a hull and machinery survey done by an accredited marine surveyor. The survey must be in your name and less than one year old....
I did not see the fact that you were 24 in your headline.... 24 years old may or may not be an issue when it comes to insurability, depends on if you have actually owned previous performance boats. A 24 year old on a performance boat is not an easy thing to insure. There are definitely carriers out there for you. I would honestly suggest finding a broker (not a carrier) and working with a broker so that the broker can work all angles for you.
Depending upon power.... Progressive might be your only option for awhile....

I agree with Stacy about Progressive that may be your best choice at this point in time; however if the vessel is capable of speeds in excess of 75 mph you will need to use another company.
I noticed your birthday is the 24th, If you are turning 25 we will have a market for you, other than Progressive. They will require a hauled survey less than one year old and will want to know your ownership history.
Let me know if i can be of any assistance.
Happy Birthday!

You have possibilities but it is all dependent upon prior experience. I would just call one of us brokers here on the forum and talk about your particular situation. I think that would be the easiest and will get you the best answers.

I was able to get insurance for my 24' Python from progressive. This was when I was 21 and with a clean driving record other than an occasional speeding ticket at the time. They also didn't require me to get any type of survey. Their rate was very competitive in my opinion considering my age, the type of boat and the fact that I had never owned a boat before.

I went with allstate,Same place i have my auto ect with, We are about the same age but it is costing me $600 a year to insure a 24 checkmate for 18k, 1000ded..... progressive was cheaper but not by much and I really dont trust cheap insurance...worked for dealers and watched them ding people with auto insurance claims all the time.....
