Default Hatch Cylinder size? 1997 382

My wife is fussing about the scratches on my hatch lift cylinder that have been there since we bought it. Does anyone know the length and width of it and where is the best place to buy a cover sleeve ? I would measure it myself but its parked at the lake house on the trailer and its 45 mins away.
Thanks in advance! heres a pic

They are very easy to take apart and repaint. (Even I managed to do it...)
